Baby Tag

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? Maci: Michigan apartment (round one) in the bathroom. Baby: Michigan apartment (round two) in the bathroom. 2- Who was with you? Maci: I took the test alone in the bathroom…Jared was in the bedroom waiting patiently. Baby: I took the test alone in the bathroom…Jared was in the bedroom waiting not so patiently. My parents were in the living room (family reunion) so it was an exciting morning! 3- How did you find out that you were pregnant? Maci: We were driving back from my brother’s house after memorial day just talking about the odd chance….I had missed a period and so we decided out of the blue at eleven o’clock at night to stop and get a test at Meijer. Baby: We were waiting to see if this month was the one! I had a small stash of tests in my bathroom cabinet. 4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? Maci: Surprised! I really didn’t expect to get pregnant on the first try, but SO happy at the same time. Then weepy, then laughy, then weepy….which is just how pregnancy is altogether! Baby: SO happy! And more relieved than anything. 5- Your Husbands reaction? Maci: A little too calm…I could tell he was stressed by his smile. But he was still so sweet about it. Neither one of us knew what to expect! Baby: “Really? Really?!!” He laughed and picked me up and spun me around. We both cried. One of my best memories with him so far. 6- Who was the first person you told? Maci: I think my parents…but I can’t remember for sure. Actually I think Jared let the news slip to his brother, Aaron. (Not so good with secrets, but that’s a good thing) Baby: Maci, then my parents, since they were here! Then my whole family since they were here, too! 7-Did you plan to get pregnant? Maci: Yes…it just happened lightening fast, so we were still a little shocked. Baby: Yes, and we had been waiting for the right time for awhile. 8-Was everybody happy for you? Maci: Yes…except Jared got a few empty threats from my brothers. Baby: Yes…but still the empty threats. 9- Did you go out and celebrate? Maci: I can’t say I remember celebrating. Baby: It was my birthday, and the family reunion, so we were already having a party! 10- Did you want to find out the sex? Maci: Yes…I am a planner through and through. Baby: Yes…I cannot wait for this kind of surprise! 11- What was the sex? Maci: Girl…and she is ALL girl. Baby: Girl again! Lucky Maci. 12-Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Maci: My mom and sisters threw me a huge shower at home and my interior design friends threw me one as well. Both were super fun! Baby: Suzette is being super sweet and throwing me one! 13- How much weight did you gain? Maci: 21 pounds Baby: So far I’ve gained 26 pounds. But a lot of cake can happen in 4 ½ weeks, so no final number yet. 14- Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? Maci: Yes…nursing is the best ever. Baby: I’m already planning my workouts. 15- Did you get a lot of stretch marks? Maci: None on my stomach, a few light ones on my legs. That’s just where I pack it. Baby: No new ones, but the old ones are showing true. 16- What did you crave the most? Maci: Fruit fruit fruit. Baby: Fruit fruit fruit. 17- Did you crave anything crazy? Maci: This is when I started to love ice cream. It really did nothing for me before this pregnancy, and now I can’t get enough! Baby: Looks like chocolate is making it’s face shown…I’ve never been a chocolate person until now. But it’s not too powerful, so I suspect it will fade away soon. 18- Who or what got on your nerves the most? Maci: I remember getting annoyed with other pregnant women from Jared‘s job. And smokers…ugh that smell is so sick. Baby: It doesn’t take much, but it’s also easier to laugh things off now. 19- Were you married at the time? Maci: Yes. Baby: Yes. 20- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Maci: She was super tiny! Placenta was not functioning properly. Baby: Dropped in growth quite a bit, but things are looking better! 21- Where were you when you went into labor? Maci: At the hospital. The doctor was supposed to be putting some slow dilating device in me, but accidentally broke my water, instead. I was not dilated in the slightest. Baby: I’m hoping that I won’t go into labor on Friday the 13th! 22- Did your water break? Maci: Not on purpose! Baby: That would be crazy. 23- Did you go early or late? Maci: Due date…Groundhog’s Day which was totally fitting for a reason we cannot explain. Baby: It will be a little early…(for the c-section.) 24- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth? Maci: Jared and a bunch of doctors. Baby: 25- Was it video taped? Maci: The before and after moments were. 26- Did you have any drugs for the pain? Maci: I was given some Demerol, which made me REALLY delirious and crazy all night. Also made me throw up. Then I had an epidural because I had this thing inside me measuring contractions and I remember the nurse telling me I was experienced some major “9” type contractions when I was dilated to a 4. Then all a few more back shots before they cut into me…yuck. Baby: I’m expecting much less exhaustion! 27-Did you go vaginal or have a c-section? Maci: Labored for a long time and ended with a c-section. Baby: It will be a c-section. 28- What was your first reaction after giving birth? Maci: I was overwhelmed…I felt very incapable Baby: 29- How big was the baby(s)? Maci: 5lbs. 6oz, 19-½” long Baby: They are forecasting in the 6’s if I can go to my scheduled date 30- Did your Husband cry? Maci: I don’t think so…to tell you the truth I don’t remember him there a whole lot even though I know he was…I was so foggy. Baby: 31- What did you name the baby(s)? Maci: Maci Brooklyn Baby: AHHHHH!!! We don’t know yet! 32-Did the name have any significance to you? Maci: We heard it and knew it would fit her perfectly, and it does. Baby: I’m keeping my hopes up that I’ll find something suitable…I’m not even shooting for perfect anymore. 33- Did the baby(s) have any complications? Maci: She wouldn’t eat the next day, so she had to go to Special Care for a couple days. But after that, she was healthy and super happy. Baby: 34- How old is your baby today? Maci: Four going on fourteen Baby: We’re in week 35! 35- When is the next one(s) coming? Baby: March 16th 36- If you could would you do it all over again? Maci: I would take more video and pictures with her and I would give Jared more time alone with her to bond. I tag all the moms!

You guys are just popping them out! If we manage to get a big Perriton reunion together again, we're going to have to hire out a state. And I'm hoping to be adding to the numbers by then too! I hope cake hasn't gotten the better of you by now and you're feeling great! You look gorgeous. Love all Maci's antics, she is so funny!

This planned C-section will be sooo much better then the one after laboring. I did it both ways too, and the difference is amazing. And if they ask then get the spinal instead of the epidural. The meds last longer afterwards before the pain kicks in. Good luck and I can't wait to see pics of her :)

We LOVE love love it in Dallas. If your gonna move then you should def. come here! We will probably never leave unless we have to for some reason. Plus I need more family here :) We have great schools, lots of stay at home moms, and a great climate. Did I convince you yet?
