Tiny Dancer

So, yesterday I finally got a clue. And although I'm sure all the other mothers have already figured this out, I wish someone would have let me in on the secret so I'll share mine. I'd say some days are harder than others and this should be reserved for a day like yesterday when you're just praying for some kind of non-existent relief party to call you up and give you the answers to all your questions. So...not a huge revelation for most of us but here it is...when you feel like you've had enough with your two year old little girl, just bust out the dancing dress-ups and take a break. So I forgot about the laundry and just watched Maci. She was so particular about having the longest dancing dress in the closet that she changed three times before settling on her purple one and insisted on wearing her ballet shoes instead of her high heels for the occasion. I remembered that she really is sweet when she started twirling with her doll. Then I remembered that she's my comic relief when she insisted I take a picture of her trying to fit in a suitcase (why was that out, by the way?) in her dress. I think sometime soon I'll try that twirling thing and then get in a suitcase and see how it goes.

Perriton Kitchen Before Pics

This is how my parents' kitchen looked before our huge summer project. Also I got a picture of what the old kitchen looked like outside before we hauled it away for good! This remodel was overdue and we did all the work ourselves so it ended up being a very busy summer.
Not complete, but getting closer. We ran out of time before I had to move so these pictures are pre-furniture and pre-decor for the most part. I hope to get completed pictures eventually but given I now live a world away, it may not happen! Enjoy the after pictures anyway. (:

The Daddy of 'em All: Frontier Days 2007

Fourth of July

It's funny how fast a kid can drink pop if they know they're not supposed to have it. Maci and Joey (at the same time) happened upon a Pepsi and Mt. Dew already open at the 4th of July picnic in Cheyenne. You'd think the carbonation would have slowed them down, but I barely got there in time to take the picture! And by that time it was worth what we'd suffer later from the "2 year old on caffeine" effects.
Quotable quote of the night was from Maci. She heard fireworks behind her and couldn't see them. When she finally caught sight of the show she said in amazement, "I see it but I don't believe it!" She's such an adult in 2 year old clothing.

Old Friends

Here are some pics of recent girls nights with some great old friends. Kelly, how is Hawaii by the way and we're all jealous!?! And I miss you all so much...now I have to make new friends.
Laaa-aaame.
