Pumpkin Patch Fun

Yesterday we went to the Pumpkin Patch. We saw how fresh apple cider was made at the cider press and bought a jug of that (despite the warning label which in so many words says it could kill you) but mmmm was that good! We also had some fresh homemade donuts, fed the goats and geese (watch out, Cory, they will bite!), and chose a big pumpkin perfect for me to ruin while trying to carve it. We had fun despite the freezing cold, rainy weather. *Note*: Maci has a hard time smiling like a normal person in the cold, so she just did these faces instead.

Things you didn't know you wanted to know...

Jenny tagged me to write six facts about myself and I have to tag 6 people. So the lucky six are.... Tia, Marcie, Lisa, Suzette, Misti, Sheena And here are the things about me you didn't know you wanted to know (: 1. Food doesn't do much for me. I really would much rather have a virgin pina colada any day than a burger or anything else I can think of. I know it's weird but have a major weakness for sweet smoothie-type drinks! 2. I hate the smell of hospitals and bleach. 3. I regularly have dreams that I am in a tornado. Last time I was with my sister, Trish, and we actually got taken up in the tornado. Then I woke up. I also have dreams regularly that my teeth are falling out. 4. I have the useless ability to remember where I got and how much I paid for each piece of clothing/shoes I have. And I have the annoying habit of sharing this info with others. 5. I love love love airports. It is so exciting to wonder where everyone is going and I love the excitement of vacations. 6. Hope this doesn't sound creepy but I also love people watching. Places that are great for people watching: stoplights, airports, mall, church, and restaurants.

Seeing Ghosts

Just to be perfectly clear, this is a picture of Maci, not the ghosts she saw. That's right, just in time for halloween, I would like to share another exchange between Maci and I.
Me "Maci, who were you talking to?"
Maci "Fred and Freddie"
Me "Who are they?"
Maci "You know those guys, downstairs. But they are just little guys."
Me "Yeah, but they are just pretend, huh?"
Maci "No they're real. You know the boys downstairs? Fred and Freddie?"
Me "Were they nice? Did they talk to you?"
Maci "Yeah they were nice."
Me "Were they little or bigger than you?"
Maci "They were little boys but they are a little bigger than me. C'mon I'll show you."

So she takes me to the edge of the stairs and points down them with a smile and says, "See them mom?" No! There was nothing there. So I laughed and said, "oh you mean the shoes" (because she always names inademate objects and treats them like people). But no, she assured me there were people there, little boys Fred and Freddie, who I couldn't actually see. At least they seemed nice. Honestly, where has she ever even heard the names Fred and Freddie? Happy Halloween Everyone!

Finding Nemo

So this weekend we finally found Nemo, on Ice. Maci has been looking forward to this for weeks, (actually just the one week...we got tickets pretty late) but she was so excited. At one point during the performance Maci could contain her excitement no longer and shouted, "Nemo Nemo I Love you!" The costumes were incredible. I just kept imagining myself face planting the giant shark into the ice if I was the skater. Jared couldn't resist the $10 snow cone because it came with a little nemo cup. And this morning, when Maci was looking for it, excitedly ran into our room holding her cup and yelled, "I found Nemo, mommy!"

Don't you just love the fall? Maci and I decided to make a leaf necklace (thank you it was my idea) and we had to gather leaves. Here's Maci in all her pickiness. The green leaf didn't make the cut; she looked at it and said it was too dirty for her necklace. However, the neighbor's purple flower made it somehow...whoops! Don't tell the neighbors.

Our Little Princess

Maci was invited to, what else, a princess party. Here she is showing off before the big event. Would you just look at those lashes! Seeing her all dressed up really made me dread her prom in fourteen years. I can feel it sneaking up on me already.
