We are so lucky to have Jared's job, but recently were reminded that it's a 50% travel position. So we had the family reunion, and Jared left for CA the day before my parents left for home. He's been gone for three weeks, with the exception of one very short day when we got to see him! I don't know how you military wives do it, but here's to you!
So now Maci and I are going to San Fransisco for a little month long vacation before PRESCHOOL starts! Jared will hopefully be done with the project in October. I've always regretted not going to San Fransisco with my design friends, (along with the Japan, Europe, and Egypt trips I didn't take), so I'm pretty excited to see the city! Mostly because I don't have to pay for it.
Here's Jared in all his shaved-headed glory before he left for CA.
If your company was paying for a trip...where would you go?

I went to San Francisco a few years ago during a spring break. You should go check out the Palace of Fine Arts. It's a pretty spot.
Wow Summer, I hear ya!
btw...NY for sure!
If my company was paying for a trip I would go on a month long mediterrainan cruise so i could travel to italy, greece, france, turkey, pretty much anywhere i wanted.
Hey and thanks for the shout out, its definitely not easy being a military wife, thankfully they have technology which helps us keep in touch so much easier & makes our lives just a little bit less lonely.
Have fun in San Fran, take lots of pictures!
I totally hear you about your husband being gone. Isaac and I were only apart a week and it was awful! Hang in there. It will be fun to go on a trip! I think I would like a cruise too or Hawaii
traveling for your job is fun b/c you don't have to deal w/ the kids but then again you don't get to see the kids so thats the sad part...
what does he do again?
hey spread the news we are having a reunion next summer...

How fun to go on a vacation! They are the best! Hey -- if you'll be around, give me a call! I live in Santa Cruz, just about 1 hour from San Fran. I'd love to see you!
I don't know how you do it!! I hate being away from Mckay. Have fun in San Fransisco though. I would pick somewhere tropical too I think!
That sounds like my life...without Lane. It sucks when the man of th house is gone, but it sure helps us to be more grateful for when he is home and for everything he does for us. There's a lot of truth to absence makes the heart grow fonder.
The kids and I just got back from San Francisco. we sure had a great time. I hope you have a great trip and survive the rest of the time with Jared being gone. It sure is hard when they are gone!!
We went to S.F. on our honeymoon and had a BLAST! We really want to go back someday. HAVE FUN!
