Holy Five Years, Batman!

Jared and I had our fifth anniversary recently and went to Mackinaw Island, MI for the weekend (remember "Somewhere in Time?"). It was so so so fun and beautiful! Here are a few pictures from the event:

On the dock and ferry before leaving from Mackinaw City.

Probably should've brought a brush along on the ferry. Not important...did you notice the Grand Hotel in the distance? That's as close as we saw it since it's soooo expensive to stay there. It was gigantic.

My favorite thing about the bike ride was that they gave Jared's bike the basket. That's so tough! We rode all around the whole island (a little over 8 miles) and it was so pretty. I tried to run over giant spiders crossing the road and answered my phone while riding. No cars are allowed on the island. I had to yield to horses.

This was our view from a short hike. Isn't it so pretty? I loved it! And let's face it, Jared is WAY better at skipping rocks than me. But I let him win. Just like he "let" me beat him up the hill on my bike...(:

This guy was really into me. I liked this lighthouse but did not pay the 6 dollars to go inside. Jared was not impressed.

This bridge from the lower to the upper peninsula is the 6th longest of its type in the nation...or the world (can't remember which)

This store had the BEST candy from my childhood. Shout out to Lisa...do you remember ZOTZ? I found some at this store and ate them all in one sitting for old times sake, and thought of you, of course. (:

THIS was our view of the sky while we're sitting in the boat waiting to go back to the city. I was fairly sure our lives would end soon.

Thanks for being interested in our fifth (WOW!) anniversary. It was my best yet and I can't wait for many many more. I'm feeling old already. Love you Jared! You're the hottest, funniest, coolest, and did I mention hottest guy I know...(does that ring a bell?)

Summer you look okay, but that husband of yours is one handsome devil. I just love the way he looks when the wind blows through his hair. You are so lucky.

1st of all I can't believe its been 5 years so much has changed, 2nd of all I am SO jealous i've always wanted to go there, so glad you had fun, it looks like an awesome place to go, and 3rd and most importantly, I can't believe you found zotz!!! That is so awesome, I completely forgot about those...I could actually go for some right now.

So I went home this past weekend and found all my journals from high school and all my year books, all I have to say is...wow we were so funny about so many things i was sitting there laughing at how we were such big dorks...I wish we lived closer so we could be good friends like that again, it made me sad that we don't get a chance to talk as much. I hope everything is doing well.

PS you look great!!! For almost being a quarter century...jk like I can talk I'm only 9 days younger.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!!
